Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy

I am very thankful for the creation of digital cameras and photography. Through it, I can take pictures all the time and can save it in my hard drive or external HD. You can also edit it but I don't usually edit my photos because I don't have a lot of time doing it.

The image you see below was taken in Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy. My beautiful friend from the United States who is also the daughter of my teacher back in high school had a Europe tour last 2010. I accompanied her to some cities and countries in Europe.

During our trip to Rome, one of the city squares we visited was Piazza Navona. It is built on the site of the Stadium of Domitian, built in 1st century AD, and follows the form of the open space of the stadium. During its history, the piazza has hosted theatrical events and other ephemeral activities.

It was raining hard when we were there. Despite of that, we still enjoyed our sightseeing. This was where we tasted the Italian gelato. Yes, during that chilly weather! I might not be able to join the memes next week. I will be out for some days trip in Spain. Take care folks!

The Houses in Vernazza, Italy

This is one thing you will notice in Vernazza, Italy and probably also in the other villages of the Cinque Terre. Italians in this village usually hang their clothes right outside their windows. I find it good because it is one way of caring Mother Nature. I guess you know what I mean about this. Using dryers also means not using electric and power, thus also saving money for not using one.

This lovely town is located in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northwestern Italy. It is one of the five towns of the Cinque Terre. It belong to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Our sightseeing here last spring 2011 was a wonderful experience.

Did you see shadows on the image? I am happy to join these lovely memes below. This is also my first time to join Shadow Shot Sunday.

Travel Snapshot- The Gondola in Venice, Italy

My wish to ride a gondola in Venice, Italy was finally fulfilled. It was my third visit to the capital city of the Veneto region in Italy. Venice is known as a romantic city, the beauty of its setting, its architecture and its artworks are simply amazing which made this city one of the major tourist destination not only in Italy but in whole of Europe as well.

Back to gondola; it is is a traditional, flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat. It is very well suited to the conditions of the Venetian Lagoon. It has been the main means of transportation and most common watercraft within Venice.

The gondola ride can cost a bit fortune especially if there are only two of you. You better ride in group. A forty five minute ride cost 80.00 Euros last July 2011. If you want it longer, you have to pay more ranging until 150.00 Euros. If you bargain with the gondoliers, your cruise in Venice canals might be shortened. Beware of it.

Travel Snapshot- St. Peter's Basilica, Rome, Italy

It's been a year now since I visited Rome, the capital city of Italy. The Papal Basilica of Saint Peter commonly known as St. Peter's Basilica was one of the sights we visited. It is Late Renaissance church located within the Vatican City. It has the largest interior of any Christian church in the world.

Places To Visit During My Spring Vacation 2011

It is always my dream to travel around the world. That is also one of the reasons why this travel site is created. I wish to travel in the Baltic Region of Europe, the coastal areas in Mediterranean Sea covering 21 countries, 4 regions and and 3 territories and some other interesting countries in this planet.

I will be having a short spring vacation starting April 15. I found a cheap holiday package last February and immediately booked the trip. Included in that cheap trip are breakfast, dinner, 3-star hotel accommodation, trips to different places and the transportation.

Here are some of the places that we will be visiting:

Cinque Terre in Italy

It is a very popular tourist destination. The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is called as "The Five Lands" and composed of five villages, the Vernazza, Corniglia, Monterosso al Mare, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. It is included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site.

I am quite excited to see the beautiful landscape of Cinque Terre. I hope we will have the chance to do some coastline hiking trails there.

Monte Carlo, Monaco

Don't you know that Monaco is the second smallest independent state in the world after the Vatican? Also be informed that Monte Carlo is not the capital of Monaco but it is a government district.

Monte Carlo is very famous for its casino and its prominence. Some of the sites to visit include the Monaco-Ville, Monaco Cathedral, the Prince's Palace, La Condamine, the Grimaldi Forum and many more. I will see if I can try my luck in Grand Casino. For sure, my friends will!
Cannes, France

This place is included in my travel wishlist. It is one of the best cities of the French Riviera and one of the best social hubs in Europe. It is very famous for its Cannes Film Festival which is held every year. Some of the must-see include the Old Town,Palais des Festivals, La Croisette, the Port, Covered Market and a lot more.

This place is also famous for its luxury boutiques and designer fashion. Don't forget your credit cards when visiting this beautiful place.

Other place that we will also be visiting are Nice, Blumenriviera, San Remo and Menton. I am quite excited for this trip. For sure, I will share here some images when I am back. Time for me to pack my luggage.
